Short-cut carbon fiber in early April!

In the April production line, the short-cut carbon fibers are quietly shaping the boundaries of composite materials.

This is a precisely controlled length carbon fiber short-cut material, with common specifications ranging from 3mm to 25mm. Each bundle of fibers undergoes strict surface treatment to ensure a good bonding with the resin matrix. After being cut, the fibers retain their original high strength and high modulus properties, while also achieving better dispersion and fluidity.

In thermoplastic composites, short-cut carbon fibers exhibit unique reinforcing effects. When PA, PP, PC and other matrices are added, the thermal deformation temperature of the material significantly increases, and the linear expansion coefficient significantly decreases. The products maintain lightweight while the rigidity is increased by 50% to 200%, and the surface has a uniform matte texture without any floating fibers.

The application scenarios cover multiple industrial fields. In the automotive industry, it is used in seat frames, air duct shells, and engine guard plates; in the electronics and electrical appliances sector, the shells of laptops and precision structural components have become thinner and more resilient due to it; in the sports equipment field, bicycle parts and racket frames have achieved better fatigue resistance; in industrial equipment, the fan blades and mechanical arm connecting rods have achieved a balance between weight and strength.

The processing technology has good compatibility. During injection molding, the improved fluidity enables the one-time formation of complex structural parts; extrusion molding can produce continuous reinforced profiles; the compression molding process is suitable for batch production of special-shaped parts. It is recommended that the processing temperature be 5-10℃ lower than that of pure resin to reduce the risk of fiber oxidation.

In early April, it was the time to select materials. Short-cut carbon fiber offered a practical option for product upgrades - understated but powerful.
