Stabilize production capacity, enhance quality, expand application scenarios: The development path for the carbon fiber industry 


Currently, the Chinese carbon fiber industry is in a stage of rapid growth and concurrent structural optimization. From the perspective of overall production capacity, the number of domestic carbon fiber manufacturers is continuously increasing, and the planned production capacity is expanding continuously. Some leading enterprises have achieved stable operation of production lines with capacities of thousands or even tens of thousands of tons. However, there is a certain gap between actual effective output and nominal production capacity, and there is still room for improvement in capacity utilization. The industry as a whole presents the characteristics of "total expansion, accelerated domestic substitution, and intensified competition in some fields". 


On the supply side, technological breakthroughs have been significant advancements in recent years. Domestic enterprises have gradually narrowed the gap with international advanced levels in key processes such as raw fiber preparation and carbonization. The mechanical performance indicators of some model products have reached or approached the levels of imported counterparts. As a result, production costs have decreased, driving the large-scale application of carbon fibers in more industrial fields. At the same time, there are significant differences among different specifications of products - aerospace-grade small fiber bundles have high technical barriers and fewer participating enterprises, while industrial-grade large fiber bundles have seen increased competition among entering enterprises and a more intense price competition. 


In terms of market demand, the application fields of carbon fiber continue to expand.
