Although the depth application and expansion of the current carbon fiber composite material has already provided the conditions for advancement, the road ahead may not be smooth. On the basis of previous in-depth research, the China Industrial Textiles Industry Association and the carbon fiber industry chain companies jointly initiated the establishment of a technology innovation alliance. The strength of the alliance is conducive to the close integration of government and industry, top-level design and corporate practice, and strive to achieve global carbon fiber. It has a place in the application and development and seeks to develop opportunities.

He also said that the alliance as an important platform for technological innovation, especially the industrial chain collaborative innovation platform driven by carbon fiber composite terminal applications, is of great significance to the current industrial development and will jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of the domestic high-performance carbon fiber composite materials industry.

Cao Xuejun, deputy director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department, said that carbon fiber and composite materials are indispensable strategic new materials. After years of efforts, China's carbon fiber industry has formed a complete industrial chain of fiber production, composite material forming and downstream applications, basically satisfying sports and leisure. The application needs in the civilian sector have partially eased the urgent need in the defense industry and aerospace industry.

"But high-performance carbon fiber and composite materials have a large gap in high-quality, high-efficiency and low-cost technologies, product design and application technology, and have not yet matured in industrial applications such as automobiles and rail transit. The overall application technology program and industrial supporting system, the large-scale application of carbon fiber and composite materials still has a long way to go." Cao Xuejun said.
