What is the application principle of short carbon fiber?


Each short carbon fiber is made up of thousands of smaller carbon fibers, about 5 to 8 millimeters in diameter. At the atomic level, carbon fiber is similar to graphite, consisting of layers of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal pattern. The difference between carbon fiber and graphite is the connection between the layers. Graphite is a crystal structure, and its interlayer connections are loose, while short carbon fiber is not a crystal structure, and the interlayer connections are irregular, which can prevent slipping and enhance the strength of the material.
